In the winter, my 1yo son wears these tights under his pants: http://www.amazon.com/Jefferies-Socks-Baby-girls-Seamless-Organic/dp/B008OVRXT8/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t He can't pull those off! I realize in this country tights are only marketed to girls (which seems to be why there aren't a lot of unisex options), but I'm from Germany where baby tights are standard for both sexes. Highly recommend these, they are super soft and warm.
This is a great idea. I always wonder, though, when I see little girls in tights if they are hard to get on and off for diaper changes. Is it worth the trouble?
I don't find them harder to take on and off than pants. Of course if he wears these under pants, I have to remove two items, but in the winter, he has to wear something under his pants, right? Don't you put longjohns on your boys in the winter? If so, I don't think the tights are much different, and then you don't have to deal with socks. And they are so cozy!
I don't actually put anything under pants in the winter -- do most people? If he's outdoors he's either in the stroller with a blanket or running around enough to keep warm. Then we come inside and he would be totally overheated if he had long johns on under his pants. We're in and out a lot so it would be hugely time consuming to keep changing him. I do bundle him up if it's snowing or if we're going to be out for an extended period of time when it's like below 30 (which is rare -- we usually keep outside trips fairly short when it's that cold.)
