Any day the OP doesn't get a good photo, she'll get a text asking where their photo is--no way. How does that help her have a good relationship with her ILs? How many photos you get depends on how your relationship was before...and in this case, best to send a photo every so often but not create any expectation of regularity that allows complaint.
