will a Caucasian child fit in with an Indian population? How is the culture in accepting other children. Will they speak hindi?
There are many, many different languages (not dialects) spoken in India. Hindi is just one. While there are a few that are represented here more than others, a group of Indians (especially those who aren't friends, but just live in the same area) will likely speak to each other in English, since their native languages may all be different. That's why India has such a big call center business, while China does not...most people in India need at least a little English to get by, and those in big cities need more than that. In general, they are very accepting of other children, although parents (if they are first generation) will likely be more strict than others, especially about things like dating. If they are 2nd generation or later, I don't think there will be any difference.
Cindy -- always keeping the record straight.
