I'm playing devil's advocate a bit, yes, we have a car and a carseat, but there are plenty of parents who do not. I lived in DC for 7 years and never had a car and took taxis a handful of times at best. With so many people electing to reduce the carbon footprint, I'd imagine there are increasing numbers of individuals who simply do not drive or ride in cars frequently enough to merit use of a carseat. When you rent a car for a trip, you may rent a carseat, btw for the person saying it would be a PITA. In any case, I'm not arguing about whether or not it is a PITA or not -- I suppose that would be for the parents to decide based on their own priorities, which may not be the same as yours. Still, bottom line, if baby is going to be going home in a stroller or in mom / dads arms, via walking or metro, I am wondering if a carseat may be legally required. For those of you saying Sibley requires this, how do you know?[/quote]
