I work for a company that has a contract, so I am not fed, but will be furloughed. No benefits or unemployment for me. Cannot save because my salary is not big enough, all my money goes. I have no idea what I will do
Most contractors get benefits and unemployment. You must be hired specifically with no benefits and you agreed to that at time of hire, so I do not see the issue. If you know you will lose your job, you look for a new one on a more stable contract now before you lose your job with a bunch of other people, also looking. Worst case, you get a store job or take anything just to bring in come income till you get another job. I do't get the boo hoo when you see an issue coming and are not proactive about getting another job or second job and work it out.
