Your post doesn't address what the victim is supposed to do after following your steps when they don't work.[/quote] Point taken. This was a real fail on the part of the coach, who should have stepped up once it was clear this was going on. I still wouldn't give the kid a high 5 for hitting back. He can always walk away.
