W-L also had more acceptances to top colleges/universities than Yorktown, Woodlawn and McLean HS as shown in the latest Arlington magazine.
I finally saw this article. The stats weren't reported consistently among the schools, but one would not infer in any event that W-L had more acceptance to "top colleges/universities" than the other schools, unless you have a very narrow definition of "top colleges/universities." So, for example, W-L had a couple of kids get into Yale last year, but no one from Yorktown or McLean got in. There were also a few more W&L students who got into W&M than at Yorktown or McLean. On the other hand, more kids from McLean than from W-L got into other schools like Cornell, Penn, Carnegie-Mellon, and U. Va., and more kids from Yorktown than from W-L got into other schools like Duke, Georgetown, Michigan and Virginia Tech. As to Woodlawn, it's so much smaller than W-L that comparisons of the numbers of college acceptances aren't meaningful. Not saying W&L isn't a good school, but the above statement is debatable and/or wrong.
