Cashflow and fraud protection. You have to pay your CC bill at the end of the month, not after each purchase.

Also cc's have better fraud protection in terms of limited liability.

This way, if your CC is compromised, you still hvae your debit card to operate from while it takes the CC company 5 days to send you a new card. (Just had this happen a few months ago, know from experience.. but was fun explaining to DW that it wasn't me that tried to buy a match.com subscription!)[/quote]

Ok, probably a dumb question but- for those families who use one card for miles, I assume both parents have their own. Is it the same number? I am mid 20s and don't have any experience w joint accounts so just curious[/quote]
