OP here, I'm still looking for recs. Jennifer Fowler's website very promising, but she's only working on cap hill and dupont right now. We are in unfashionable 16th st heights. I looked at the above recs and am just demoralized. the first one looks like someones thesis project--plans for a metro station? No evidence of any residentiald design experience. THe second one seemed great, but more than one very worrisome review on yelp gives me significant pause. Another architect never responded.

I thought small project architects were all looking for jobs?! Two years ago I met one who was babysitting in her spare time. Now either my 80k project is too small, our location is not central enough or something. [/quote]
