If the anal glands are infected, and I'm not saying they are but dogs with this issue are prone to them, it needs to be treated before the glands rupture. That ain't pretty and it's painful for the dog. You'd rather shell out some money for a visit and antibiotics then treating a ruptured gland.[/quote]
