Is it not possible to discuss this and simply say, you know, I could use a few minutes to myself so I'm going to go up to my room and read? Surely your husband can entertain his mother while you go decompress? Just speak up and ask for what you need already - don't be passive-aggressive as though other people are supposed to read your mind.[/quote]
