Don't use Eagle Bank. I called them because of a recommendation from dcum They were horrible for me. Sent in our mortgage application after talking financial specs on the phone and got the 'no problem, you should get the loan amount you want dependent on appraisal.' FOUR months later, after appraisal came in at 10k under what I expected, got a call saying 'sorry, due to income we can only get you a loan at 50% of what we said' Income did not change in those four months. Ok, I lied - income did change, HHI went up 30% gross. FOUR MONTHS! Are you kidding me? This is after initially promising a closing in 45 days and then running out of the lock period and supposedly extending my lock (but never providing me with documentation as requested to prove up the extended lock). I can't prove it, but I suspect that they never extended my lock and when rates moved (about 0.5% or so), they just wanted to get rid of me rather than admitting their error. Wasted my time, an appraisal fee and costs me with the rates moving up. Avoid them like the plague. I'm in the middle of doing a loan through a broker I found on Bankrate.com - I just punched in my info and then called 5 or 6 of the listed dozen and change brokers to discuss things before picking one based on costs/rates. So far, so good, but fingers are crossed.
