I'm not saying this is what happened, but I'm sure you've had the experience of someone just leisurely crossing the street wherever they damn well please without even looking for cars. It happens to me just about every time I drive in certain neighborhoods. I think preventing texting while driving is absolutely essential to safety. But I also think kids need to be educated (and adults need to stop modeling bad pedestrian behavior).[/quote]
