Completely shut out pk3. Hilarious waitlist numbers. We are going private, which I am fine with because I don't think he is ready for full-day anyway, but the nanny for our new baby child plus part-time preschool for our 3 year old is going to kill us financially. Based on our experience, we are looking for a house in a good school district, which, if we even can find one for 600,000, will also kill us financially. Sucks.
why are you sending your child to part time preschool instead if keeping him/her with the nanny? I kept my kids in daycare until they wen to prek4 (the young one had a January birthday, she will finish daycare this week and will go to pre-k4 in September, at 4yr and 8 months. my neighbor has two kids and they both stayed with nanny until 4 when they went to pre-k 4 (our IB school does not offer prek3) and they both are doing great in school and are very happy kids. if it is hard to afford it, why are you doing it?
Because the nanny will be home with a newborn for 6 months at least, perhaps up to a year - preschool gets him out of the house three days a week. I don't want my 3 month old scream crying at story time or fussing in a stroller (based on my first, I don't have "easy" babies).
