1) OP: I am in no way surprised by her use of the word or the thinking that goes behind it

2) The reason the woman is bringing it up is if this kind of thinking and behaviour (use of the word, and other racial epithets) was done in the workplace -- It creates a hostile environment and is ILLEGAL...

3) This is true if it was a gay man suing because Paula and Bubba were constantly using the word "fag", making gay jokes, trying to hire stereotypically effeminantely dressed gay men dressed in drag to be the waitstaff at a wedding because she wanted a 'drag queen'  theme...or she wanted folks dressed up as holocause victims....

4) tho the use of the word may not have always been in the workplace -- it shows state of mind, proclivity to use the word, past behavior that falls in line with the behaviour that is alleged to have taken place at work....

5) It is not ok to degrade people, put them down, call them out of their name, mistreat them based on race, gender, sexual orientation...u cannot do this at work ...it is wrong...point, period, end of story[/quote]
