Is it possible she did file claims and didn't want to admit to you whatever she may have contributed to the damage reimbursed by the checks? Not that it's ok for her to lie to you about it, but it may be you she's being dishonest with and not the insurance company.
+1 My first thought too. For now assume a more innocent explanation than insurance fraud. Maybe she dinged the car in the parking garage and didn't want to tell you? Or she lost her engagement ring and didn't want you to know? And she went ahead and filed the claim to fix the damage/replace the item without telling you? Odds are on a logical explanation along these lines. But this being DCUM, you'll always get a few bored little drama addicts and pot-stirrers accusing your wife of felonious activity and, of course, plotting a sneaky divorce. Regardless, I agree with the PP who said it's time for a sit-down with her just to find out either way since you now know half the story and are fearing the worst. All this being said, I agree with the other PP who asked, who reviews this kind of stuff? How do you review a canceled check anyway?
