No but it is a painful experience that comes up on occasion. I.E. I saw the teacher today and when DC mentions teacher's name the emotions come back to some extent. PP Have you ever had a bad experience that was difficult to get over or are you just tough as nails? For her it was so bad she was crying in the bathroom a handful of times that year and a couple of times in class. Not a personality problem as she hasn't had these experiences before or since. Bullying goes go on because people marginalize the feelings of the victims. Often the victims are made to feel like they did something wrong and are hushed into silence. I'm upset that the teacher is still at the school but the teacher is careful who teacher targets.
OP, your use of the word "bully" is not really appropriate here and I think part of your problem is that you are using your identification with victims of bullying to justify your continued obsession with a long ago experience with what sounds like a teacher with a bad attitude. I think you might need to talk to a professional to sort out why you can't get over this experience, especially after all this time. It's really pretty extreme. Most kids have a year with a teacher they don't like, or one they think is mean to them, and yes, they cry a handful of times in the bathroom. That's unfortunate, but it happens. Not every teacher is a great match for every kid. Not every kid likes their teacher. Not every teacher is nice or particularly friendly. Just like life, kids get through it and move one. Your continued focus on the employment of a teacher your child had a bad experience with is not normal. Evidently, she is a good teacher or she still wouldn't be there. You need to let this go and perhaps a professional can help you do that.
You are amazing. You can diagnose me based on a couple of postings. You also can diagnose DC's obviously amazing teacher. We all know teachers never bully students and bad teachers are always fired. Thanks so much for your support.
