The key is to not overdo it. All you need is to SHAPE your brows properly. Even if you don't have too much eyebrow hair, you may still need to trim your brows, but that's difficult to do if you don't know how to do it.

I agree that waxing can mess with your skins elasticity, so I go the threading route. When I get my brows threaded, I always make sure to tell the stylist (if I haven't used them before) to keep them thick, as I just need a slight shaping. I try not to ever thread above my brow either. If the technician is Indian, I always say "Indian style thick brows please!".

You may find it laughable that your brows make you look younger, but they really do. The space between your eyes and eyebrows is pretty important to your overall look.  Opening up that space will make you look younger because that area shrinks as we age. Also it will make you look more awake and wide-eyed. When your eyebrows are too close to your eye (or stray hairs there distract the eye), you look older, maybe even more tired, and definitely a lot less polished.

But if you prefer the natural look- hey, it's your face right?

My only advice would be to never overpluck, definitely brush and trim your brows, and maybe try threading once to see how it makes you look.
