The schools that offer the lottery are all undersubscribed with the exception of Mt. Vernon, and anyone can get a transfer to them by merely requesting them. Most of them are in areas with high ESL populations and they are trying to get other kids into them by having specialized programs to help boost the test scores. No one really takes the bait outside. In years past, Lyles Crouch was a lottery school, and a lot of residents in North Old Town, Parker Gray, and other areas where the schools were not that great, tried to use it to get into it. They dropped Lyles Crouch as a lottery or magent school years ago. [/quote]
