I say BS to this whole thread. Every once and awile the WISC touts come out and invite advertisements for specific places to go for a WISC because the CogAt and GBRS get it so terribly wrong.
WISC is natioanlly recognized and used for indentifying gifted to profoundly gifted kids. For example, http://www.davidsongifted.org/youngscholars/Article/Davidson_Young_Scholars___Qualification_Criteria_384.aspx They don't care about GBRS at all, pretty subjective opinion from a regular teacher.
Who doesn't care about GBRS? The AAP selection committee? Also, what's wrong with the opinion of a "regular teacher"? There are a lot of great "regular teachers" whose opinions after spending time with a child daily would be valuable. You really do have an agenda to push the WISC. Funny how OP's question just happened to coincide with when AAP letters are coming out and people might be considering appealing because their DCs weren't accepted. No need to slam "regular teachers" in the process of pursuing your agenda.
