People leave highly regarded charters all the time because the schools aren't the right fit. There's no amount of due diligence that can account for every possibility. OP is lucky enough to get first-hand experience at two good schools - in effect, she gets the chance to do more extensive due diligence than other parents - if she can make the transportation work, she absolutely should.
