The AAP orientation/open houses are intended for those who are accepted on the first round. It's a dog & pony show to convince parents to move their child to the AAP center. Families are invited in their AAP acceptance letter. Anyone else who shows up is technically a gate-crasher. That said, it makes total sense that parents who are appealing would still want to attend the orientation. I think it's a failure on the part of the AAP office that there isn't a second open house later in the year for those who successfully appeal. I guess they assume if you're appealing you'll go to the center no matter what.[/quote]
