Nice try at rewriting history.

Rhee had mayoral control of the schools for the first time ever.  She had the total support of the Mayor to do whatever she wanted.  So there was no "entrenched system" and all the "institutional forces" were all in her favor.  Many of the voters and parents supported her until they saw what a mess she was making in their kids' schools.

There was incredible hope just a couple of years ago when the scores temporarily soared (ultimately cheating) and when the supposed deadwood had been removed (no improvement in student performance).

If any newbees doubt this, just check the record and talk to people -- it's all there.  Now those who are trying to paint DCPS as always being hopeless are re-writing history -- to protect Rhee and Henderson (who cares about the kids?).
