Good Luck!!! let us know what happens.  I know the feeling.  after DH was unemployed for a year I literally fell to my knees when he got "the offer".  that was 6 months ago...now we are steadily paying off the debt we racked up on our credit cards. :(

Thanks! We have a house here, and wanted to stay, so DH looked mainly for jobs in this area - although towards the end he started thinking about California or Europe... thank goodness his one lead here panned out! His field is fundamental biomedical research, does not pay much, even at a PhD level. About 100K.
Now with the sequester, he might be out of job quite soon, but at least we have a breather for now.[/quote]
