18:3, head teacher, asst teacher, Sp Ed teacher - inclusive k classroom, 1/3 kids have IEPs. All teachers in Mandarin classroom including Sp Ed teacher are native speakers.
1/3 of kids have IEPs??? Do they group all IEP kids in one classroom at Yu Ying?
No, the kids with IEPs are in two classrooms that have a Sp Ed teacher assigned to the classroom. They rotate English days/Chinese days so YY always has an even number of classrooms in all grades. There are 6 K classes in K, the jumbo class. The kids with 504s are spread out. The other K classes are 18:2 (head teacher, asst teacher). The inclusive classrooms are awesome. Also, the kids whose families send them to an immersion school tend to have mild SN. Most parents were not aware their kid had any issues until they started at YY: True for all immersion schools not just YY.
