My kid took a little class the summer before Junior year and took the SAT in August and September. Done in September. Why do they have to take it specifically in April to graduate? At our large public HS a huge number of kids are done by April. My kid got a 1600 in the fall: it would look so good to take it again after that. That can not be right. Also, no, not all scores are sent to all schools. Either you misunderstood (totally reasonable...it's complicated) or your counsellor is careless or not knowledgeable.
It’s just part of graduation requirement in our state. All juniors must take it in April at school during the school day. I did specifically ask the counselor if he takes it multiple times can we pick which scores are sent and he told me colleges see all scores. But- our high school isn’t a very college focused high school, so if they were wrong I’m not surprised. When I’m registering him for SAT, can I select not to have scores sent anywhere since he doesn’t know where he wants to apply yet. Then when application time comes, select which score to submit? Sorry, confused how this works
