She does not need to file for FAFSA. Our 18- year old got a job in October and is in community college. He just got his 2nd job for summer. He has enough money to pay for school, rent, health insurance, and open a Roth IRA. If her health does not allow here to work 40- hours a week, she can still go to college, but it just takes longer to finish. Stop telling kids that they need parents to go to college. I was an international student working 50- hours a week paying international rate for college.
h You are full of BS. You do need to fill out the FAFSA to qualify for any financial aid. How much is your 18 year old making? So he’s paying for community college out of pocket and bypassing the FAFSA entirely? How much is his community college? Most community colleges still cost around 4-5k a semester or more. Most 18 year olds cannot pay for that after paying other expenses. You’re full of it. And just because you were working by 50 hours a week and paying for college (so you say) does not mean you didn’t get aid. Not everyone can work those hours and maintain their grades. Stop acting like that should be expected. Your story doesn’t add up.
