I'd think most of this is about the player anyway. At the end of the day, there truly a material difference between SYC, BSC and Achilles?  Do we honestly think if DC goes to MLS Next club X they have a better shot than MLS Next club Y? 100% wrong but you are no different than the average American parent without knowledge of what they are watching and how to differentiate what matters most.

SYC is highly competitive and focused on short-term competition. They do the least amount of technical work which exposes their kids after puberty.

BSC is very coach dependent at this juncture. They lean more technical but have a strong appetite for winning via tactics and physically currently in their program. Our experiences have differed depending on the coach we had but winning influences the coaches heavily.

Achilles is almost exclusively technical, speed of play and decision-making without a care in the world about winning before U15 and thus will accept anybody into the program willing to put in the work and pay the fee.

Other teams like Arlington and VDA are feeder clubs and have agreements w/DC United so they have to take a look a x number of kids from those clubs. Nothing really materializes but it's good instagram content for the clubs. [/quote]

I am not one of these people that think everybody on here is crazy. Some of the best information I have obtained in this “business” has sadly come from these pages.

I know MLS academies can be cutthroat. Are you saying that MLS academies have cut kids without giving them a full year after the commitment?  If so, which ones?

For incoming future U14-U15, DCU cut from practices right away if they don't perform.  Signed players can get cut whenever per the contract or stay on the team as the full time bench and practice squad to provide numbers to starters practices.  [/quote]
