I think we can all understand the challenge of their situation. It's hard to make 2 or practice times, there are other things going on in life etc. If they are new to the team (sounds like they are) then they don't have a carpool situation figured out etc.

I can understand their challenge, but I bet this family wouldn’t complain to the travel soccer board that their different age kids couldn’t practice together. Apples to oranges I realize, but I always find it interesting that people have all these higher demands for summer swim team despite it being the cheapest game in town and run by volunteers. And then they justify their demands by saying “it’s summer swim, it’s supposed to be fun”, with complete disregard for the usually valid logic behind whatever thing they’re complaining about.
