She is blunt, rude and condescending, gives very unclear direction and then is upset that we didn’t deliver exactly what she wanted, she is too hands-off/unavailable yet a micromanager at the same time about certain things and expects everything to be done in 30 seconds.

Any tips to survive this for a couple years and then hope to be able to move elsewhere in the company? Or do I just look to jump ship because it’s not worth it to take the abuse?

I worked for someone like this and quit after 6 months.  I had no job lined up.  It was a government job that I had accepted from outside.  I was devastated.  But she was destroying my life. It all worked out in the end.  I did get another job after unemployment for four months.[/quote]
