At the Majors level in LL, many of the older kids have been playing for years and a 12 year old may be pitching at 50-55 mph, which can be intimidating for a new player.

In my experience, LL is an encouraging environment where the kids cheer on their teammates, even if they aren't very good. Older kids who are new will absolutely stick out but that doesn't mean they can't learn and have fun. At age 10 there tends to be a wide range of abilities and that's ok.[/quote]
