So we have our club meeting for those going to Super Sectionals. They mentioned that chase starts could be a possibility to speed up the meet. I have not see a psych sheet for the meet (if anyone has one would love a link here) but are not chase starts a bad idea where a swimmer could catch up with the other swimmer? It also seems like it could lead to injury. Would love to hear Super Sectionals tips and tricks for this meet from those that have done it before.
Updated: Chase starts will be used EXCEPT FOR the Relays, 800 Free, and 1500 Free The 400 Free and 400 IM will be flighted: first 4 heats will swim slow to fast; remaining heats will swim fast to slow and alternating between Men/Women. As per the new USAS rules, a swimmer is permitted a counter for the 400 Free if desired. There will be a D heat in finals that is age restricted to 18 and under. Good luck to all the athletes swimming!
