You qualified for it when you got it.[/quote] FFEL program, which allowed banks to lend students money under a federal guarantee is dead. The only program ali8ve is Direct lending program, whereby federal money is lent to students directly. As far as I know it does not permit anyone who is not a lawful permanent resident to borrow. The family here does not have a GC, so they were most likely not eligible for the loan. I'm sure the caveat was on the prom note somewhere, they just didn't pay attention. So the contract they signed is not valid and they must refund the money.[/quote]
