Wanted to share my experience: I only lasted 4 days on Wegovy pills (starter, ease-in dose) before I decided the side effects are not worth it for me personally, and I can do it without the pill. I ate super clean on Wegovy, with a big focus on protein and gentle increase in fiber, and I still felt nauseous, bloated, and uncomfortable. I also had headaches and the worst of all was the fatigue. I felt like I couldn't lift my arms or walk without a giant effort. I've decided that since I already started eating clean (I used to eat lots and lots of simple carbs before), I can just try sticking to it without the pill, especially since protein and fiber rich foods help with satiety and stable blood sugar. Since I also stopped experiencing fatigue caused by the pill, I had energy for multiple short daily walks (after meals to help with insulin resistance and glucose absorption) and eventually strength training. It's been a month now and I lost 10 pounds, and counting. Just wanted to share this in case you decide that side effects are not worth it.
I am coming to the end of my first month on this dose of the pill. The first couple of weeks were tough and I had a lot of the side effects you described, like afternoon headaches and feeling tired. I did some googling and it turns out that I was not hydrating enough. Even though I had increased my intake of water when starting, I guess I still wasn’t getting the required amounts, hence the headaches. I added electrolytes in the form of Liquid IV to my daily routine and all of those side effects have gone. I’ve felt great all week since doing this. The only kicker is that I reordered another month of 1.5mg pills due to the previous side effects, when I now think I could have gone up a dose. I’ve not been feeling the hunger suppression in effect as much the last week.
PP here. I drink a lot of water, like a lot, so I don't think this was it. I understand everyone's situation is different, though. I just felt so hopeless after years of unsuccessful lifestyle rehaul attempts that I thought the pill was needed, when for me it was not, it turned out. Just needed to dedicate myself at the start. Nothing wrong with a pill if you need it and learn to tolerate it, of course.
