You don't say anything about what your son currently eats, or his activity level. You probably need to cut out all screens and get outside, for starters. No juices, no packaged snacks, and no sweets unless it's a special occasion. They're getting all of the above at school pretty much every day, so you need to lock it down at home to counteract that.
Op here. He eats too many snacks and sugar. His favorite drink is lemonade, and his favorite food is fast food. He exercises a few times per week, but I can tell that his increased weight gain has affected him in many sports. He plays soccer, basketball, fencing, scout and rock climbing.
I mean, he's ten years old. If he's drinking a ton of lemonade and eating fast food, you’re providing it. It's not just happening. I understand there's a history here with the eating but you A) can get professional help and B) be creative here. He likes chicken nuggets and fries? You can make baked versions at home. You can work with a nutritionist on this, they can help find the alternatives. Lemonade is a treat, not an every day thing. If he's throwing up foods you need to go back to feeding therapy. And you need to learn to say no.
