[quote=Anonymous]Here's the thing. What you're getting here is a whole bunch of people's opinions about whether and when to put a baby on a schedule. I know great parents who have had their baby on a schedule from week 2. I know some other great parents who never had their kids on a schedule until school started. DCUM's opinion on this isn't relevant to you. What is important is that you and your husband aren't on the same page. So that's tricky. He's done some reading and is developing an opinion. Why does he want to put the baby on a schedule? What would that look like? Have you read any of his sources? Any of your own? What would be your preference? What are your concerns? Do you want to put the baby on a schedule, just later? What are your husband's goals? What are your goals? What's your vision of what life with a baby will look like? It's not about "right" or "wrong" here outside of extremes (no, you cannot let a newborn cry-it-out for an hour, and no, you cannot just let your brand new baby go 8 hours without eating because he wants to sleep and you're following his cues). It's about getting on the same page, communicating, problem solving as a team, and if needed, compromising. This is a GREAT exercise in parenting together, as these types of things pop up all the time as parents, and couples that can figure these issues out together, even when they start from different "sides" or perspectives, have a HUGE leg up. tl;dr - HOW you solve this with your husband matters dramatically more to your family than WHAT your eventual answer is.
