I as well know little about the art world but was impressed by how much SCAD emphasizes preparing grads to work in the art world.  That’s the underlying foundation of the school…which is only 50 years old and is now all over Savannah.

They offer many practical programs geared to the new economy if that’s a compromise for your kid.  Dual degrees in art and technology (some CS some engineering type coursework) and they comment that they have a lot of grads to work for Apple, META et al working on product design stuff.[/quote]

Following this thread as another parent to artsy student.

SCAD gives me pause given low graduation rate, for-profit status, and expense, although it does seem to have impressive industry connections for what I would think would be for the most “go-getter” students.[/quote]
