The also have a really good president who is going to steer the ship well. I knew him slightly in college and he is just a really steady, thoughtful guy -- not a grandstander. Amherst also has such a tradition of really seeking out students from under-represented areas. I benefitted from that as a student from a small city in a state ranked firmly in the bottom half for educational outcomes. I'd love for my youngest to go there, but, given the schools various institutional priorities, it seems pretty unlikely. [/quote]
