I have a friend with a premed there, they are very happy. I also have a premed at a top school. My best advice is a school where they fit and will be happy, land comfortably in top quarter, and have close access to research, clinical, and shadow opportunities. This will make a long arduous path the least cumbersome and set them up for success.
How hard is it to land in the top quarter at Wash U?
Look up the pre-test optional SAT range from fall 2020 and see for yourself. WashU does not have significantly different distributions of actual students on campus since TO began. If your student fairly easily had an SAT with no extra time at or above the 75th%ile, and they are focused and put effort into their classes, they have a decent shot at being top 1/4 for BCPM GPA and overall gpa.
