Journalism is a very specific type of writing that is almost opposite what you need for academic or essay writing. And there's no particular reason journalists would have teaching skills.

Not trying to knock journalists but I truly hate this impulse to decide that whoever you believe to be out of work (journalists, feds, authors) can automatically be a teacher. [/quote]
