[/quote] Children's doesn't think about these matters quite the way a regular hospital would. As a pediatric hospital, they are truly the only game in town for a lot of what they do. Serving Medicaid patients may not be as profitable but it's also often the only source of healthcare for many kids in this area, they are not going to abandon those kids. Likewise, rich kids who need specialized pediatric care often have no other options anyway, so they will travel a distance to go to Children's because it may be the only place they can access certain specialists.[/quote]
