They then walked it back and tried to pretend otherwise, but it was the proposal. I watched the video and read the website. Gaslighting isn't going to work here. So glad algebra is back in middle school. I don't necessarily agree with moving it all the way to 6th grade like FCPS is trying, but 7th or 8th grade algebra is a good option for accelerated students.[/quote] Agree - the VA DOE definitely had this proposal plus a general plan to "deemphasize calculus" and then tried to cover it up when there was a lot of push back. I wish they would just be honest that they changed their minds - there is nothing wrong with considering something and then realizing it is a bad idea.[/quote]
