We live in an area with lots of pools with smaller pools/swim teams, and those dive teams around us are always reaching out to let us know that they're looking for kids. This includes a team in Division 2.

From all I hear, dive teams are always looking for kids. I'd guess that pretty much any team would be happy to hear from families interested in joining, but teams in divisions 3 and below would likely be even happier. If you go to NVSL's dive site and check out the teams, you should be able to find one relatively near you.[/quote]

Thanks. I’ll have a look at the standings. When I was in NVSL years ago I think I remember diving and swimming teams being in different divisions for our pool. I assume that’s still the case? Any thoughts on assessing the coaching from the outside? Technically instruction but as much the atmosphere/fun. [/quote]

That is the case - NVSL swim and dive teams are separate entities and are placed in divisions without regard to which division the other team is in. While there are 17 divisions in NVSL swim, there are only seven in dive, so they have to keep them separate if only out of necessity to keep the number of teams in each division the same.
