Actually the new age group change made it more likely as the goal of the private equity firms is to get as many players into the system as possible to maximize profits and they idea is if kids are playing with other kids in the same grade they will be less likely to drop out as they get into their teen years. MLS Next will still be by birth year and be pretty much the only producer of youth national players and mls pros on the boys side.[/quote]

Not really sure kids will stay just because they're in the same grade. It's called burnout and when parents realize there's no golden scholarship at the end of the rainbow OR when it becomes too much of a grind/too expensive, families decide they've had enough.

Basically, the current youth soccer system overpromises and under delivers -- perfect for private equity, I guess?[/quote]
