Nice school, mostly caters to rich kids. Very similar to Elon.
66% receive financial aid. It’s not all rich kids anymore.
Where is your cite?
https://www.richmond.edu/admission-aid/
66% received “some type of aid” meaning merit is included. Merit aid can go to rich kids, too. This didn’t ultimately support your claim.
They don’t give much merit.
Yet they do offer merit and it’s included in your stat that you wrongly suggested was financial aid.
I’m not sure your beef here. It’s a great school. It’s not at all all rich kids. My kid is there and I’ve been on campus a good bit over the last few years. They are making huge strides in diversity, including economic. The merit aid pool is pretty small unlike many other LACs. One of the only places my kid didn’t get any merit aid. Most they give is need- based of some description. The huge endowment allows them to meet 100 % need with mostly grants that do not have to be repaid. 66% get some kind of aid. It’s changed a lot over the last 10 years. You can claim it’s all rich kids all you want, but that is not the reality on campus.
Correct. They reduced the merit significantly now, move the money to fin aid.
