The people in this forum not taking a tornado warning seriously makes me wonder about people in general. Schools should close by 1. No the school is not the safest place because traveling after such an event will be dangerous with wires down and debris in the road.
A tornado warning means there is an active tornado happening right now. No one has issued a tornado warning. A tornado watch means the conditions are such that a tornado could spin up at any moment. We do not have a tornado watch right now either. What we have is an advisory notice that these things could happen tomorrow afternoon. Maybe. These conditions could be widespread in a geographic area stretching from the PA border down into SC. On the other hand, maybe it will just rain. I think it's premature to make decisions about changing the school day tomorrow. We all just need to plan just in case.
