Borrowing the format from the 2025 post, here are the USAV bids earned by CHRVA girls' teams in 2026. (Corrections welcome! Try not to quote this entire post. Hopefully, I can just make edits to this first post. Thanks!) Official USAV Qualified Teams Results/Spreadsheets (Updated weekly ... usually on/around Thursday, so newer info reflected below may not be on the spreadsheet) I didn't check every age group, but I think CHRVA is third in line to get another National division bid for 14s through 18s via reallocation. Another 18 American division bid may also be reallocated to CHRVA (6th in line). 18s (4 bids) 18 National, 18 American, and 18 Freedom bids earned at CHRVA Bid Regionals on 01 March 18 National: Metro 18 Travel (1st - Bid Regionals) 18 American: VAJRS 18 Elite (2nd - Bid Regionals) 18 Freedom: VA Elite 18s (3rd - Bid Regionals), Columbia 18 Black (4th - Bid Regionals) 17s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 16s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 15s (1 bid) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 15 Open: Metro 15 Travel (1st in Gold bracket at Sunshine Classic -15 Open) 14s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 13s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 12s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March 11s (0 bids) - Bid Regionals on 21 March ... BTW, I am taking a guess, but it looks like there are only Open and USA divisions on the boys' side for USAV championships. It looks like each region is allocated one USA division bid per age group (14 through 18). The boys' CHRVA Bid Regionals results are on AES. MDJRS won the 18s, 17s, and 16s/15s (combined) age groups whike Annapolis won the 14s/13s (combined) group. The Premier Nova (17s) team out of Delaware may have also earned a USA division bid at BANE. 20260302: Initial post .
I just looked at the CHRVA 18s Bid Regionals results and noticed MDJRS 18 Elite did not participate. Did they not meet the eligibility requirements, were they not accepted, or did they decline the spot? Also, I’m surprised Paramount 18s finished tied for 5th (they lost to VA Juniors in the playoffs). They usually play in the Open division at qualifiers, so I expected a stronger showing at Regionals.
This team is, unfortunately, quite banged up this year, with a few more injuries than you’d hope for aligned with Bid Regionals and Qualifiers. It’s unfortunate timing because it is a talented team. The same happened with the 17s this weekend in Boston, with the top OH down with an injury. She’ll be back full force soon, and that team is supremely talented and will no doubt get their bid. The Coach Nick lore really is rich on this board, but in real life, it doesn’t amount to much more than that. Having watched hundreds, maybe thousands now of hours of practices and competitions with his teams, I can tell you he’s a great coach, a great guy. Is he a competitor through and through? Yes. Does he push the girls to bring their best when they walk into the gym? Yes. Does he cross lines with the girls? No. Is he abusive in any way? No. Is “culture” at practices or on Paramount teams bad? No. Does he build teams he expects to win? Yes. Does he wear his heart on his sleeve? Yes. Does he show his passion and fight? Yes. Does he support his players? Yes. Don’t believe all the DCUM rumors you read. As someone who sees the guy with players 3+ times per week minimally, the best I can surmise is that people like to have a common “villain” at top clubs. Metro has Sylvia, Paramount has Nick.
