That's too bad.  I really like the medium-sized, neighborhood-based shopping areas like Chevy Chase Lake, Spring Valley shopping center or the areas around the Safeways in Chevy Chase and Palisades, DC.  They're the right scale, approachable and usually have most things.  Too bad that developers (and the planning/revenue office) want to remake everything to be like Friendship Heights or the Cathedral Commons complex going up in NW.[/quote]
