SM played SSSA today, won by a few goals.
St. Mary’s posted the scrimmage score as 12-8 on their Instagram. Why they would post a scrimmage score is the next question.
Athletes is the identity of that school, it makes sense.
lol, not traditionally. Five or more years ago, three quarters of those girls would be at NDP.
SM is in Annapolis, those kids would never go to NDP, which is in Towson. SM battles with Spalding & Severn for players.
I think the poster meant the glut of girls at Maryvale would have traditionally gone to NDP. I agree. NDP still has a ton of girls across three teams but Maryvale has definitely taken a big chunk of players that would have gone to NDP
Not GCS? Does NDP really get a lot of interest from Howard County?
No one who cares about lacrosse chooses GCS as of late. Several HoCo girls are going to Maryvale due to the Heros connection with HC, but if not at Maryvale I think many of them would have ended up public. NDP does not really attract girls from HoCo.
A decade ago McDonogh was the hot school that every parent had to send their kids too. As stated a lot of these current MV kids likely get spread around, maybe even a few to Spalding, Garrison, etc
If MV girls do scatter, think NDP has the most to gain. Many of the girls who chose Maryvale at '29 and '30 are the ones who are in the Baltimore County archdiocese pool who typically look at NDP, Maryvale, Mercy. Behind MV, NDP is the next most competitive in that group of schools. Beyond that, could see SPSG benefiting as they are just down the road, though price is a little higher. As PP stated, could see HoCo girls going back to their local publics if they're zoned for one of the better schools.
