49 year old here. I have a demanding job and was really struggling last year. I feel better than I have in a long time. What’s helped: -HRT. I can fall asleep and stay asleep now. -consistent bedtime. I also need much more sleep than I used to. -Exercise. I strength train 2-3x per week. Heavy weights, fewer reps. Cardio and Pilates on other days. I aim for 4-5 days of exercise per week. -eating well. I love sweets and salty snacks but I feel like absolute garbage when I eat them too frequently. -cutting back on alcohol. -creatine. I take 5mg per day. It’s been shown to support cognitive function.
47 here and similar. I do need to exercise more. Cutting back on sweets, alcohol, and caffeine intake have helped me. The progesterone in HRT has particular helped with sleep. And getting better sleep helps with brain fog. I also take magnesium glycinate with L theanine before bed. I loved the brain effects of testosterone but even tiny amounts of it were giving me acne. OP, have you been to your Ob gyn? If they aren’t helping you, find one who will. Focus first on fixing the sleep issue and go from there.
